A/C design

Curious about air cleaner design, Arlen Ness big sucker in particular. Read somewhere about it having a design that prevents oil making it's way up into the air cleaner. Knowing there's no free lunch, what is the down side. I don't hear of any other A/C adopting the design. Any insight ? Thanks

That is basically BS. If the engine is going to push oil, it does not matter what air cleaner design you run. There are many that claim they help or eliminate oil bypass into the a/f but you cant defeat nature, if there is pressure, the oil has to go somewhere. If the oil gallery is vented into the ait cleaner, if it is going to push oil, that is where it is going to go.

I can confirm that the bigsucker does have oil getting into it, it happens on mine. It gets better if you run the oil level a bit lower than HD recommends, but it can still happen.
