Reviving this...... So the dealership came to the conclusion that they couldn't fix my bike....WTF? Even the service rep from corporate said there was no fixing it and no one could explain to me why or what exactly was broken. In the end they ended up buying my bike from me and refunding me the money I spent on service. I'm glad they didn't screw me but it sucked to have to give up my bike. I bought another one but now the work starts all over again customizing it and getting the motor how I want. I can't say anything bad about the dealer because they made right by me but I will never refer anyone there again and will definitely never take my bike there again.
I was wondering the same thing myself. Would have been a lot easier and a whole lot quicker. Engine swap is just a few hour job. Plus, he could have asked for a 103" with all the SE goodies.
