Exhaust Question
Can someone please give some advice yes I know I can fork out another $600 and get a nice sounding exhaust, I just have a problem buying a new bike and having to fork out even more money to make it sound right.
Can I punch a hole in the baffles without it hurting anything or is the answer no don't do it because?
Any help welcomed and greatly appreciated.
The problem with changing your lovely new bike, say by punching holes in the mufflers, is the fuelling will be spoiled. Because all new vehicles have to meet strict emissions laws, it is already finely balanced. The stage 1 your dealer may offer you will probably include new mufflers, but they should also include upgrading the fuelling for it. IMHO that is very important.
My wife has a Sporty, which we deliberately bought stock. We have got used to it now and it is not as quiet as we first thought! I suggest you either go with a stage 1, or ride your bike stock for a while and think about it. You are bound to come across other riders who will tell you what they have done, which will help you decide. In the meantime there is no disgrace in riding along quietly!
Have a great ride home.
I appreciate the reply I will continue with stock for now the get a thunder max tuner , air intake, and mufflers w/headers. Thanks Again.
Oh the dealer and stage 1
