Default too lean???

Guys,

I'm doing a "hop-up" job on my 2000 Springer which was already at Stage 1 with "free-flow" everything. I'm really in need of some "experienced tuner/wrench help". I'll list what it had before my hop-up project:

[ol][*]Screamin Eagle "free-flow" intake (K&N Filter, thunderslide, dynojet)[*]Keihin CV40 carb[*]Straight TC88 Engine
[*]D&D Slip on balogny cuts.[/ol]
This
ran great for years, so I figured (ha,ha) I'd try to get something outta the TC88, the "hop-up" included the following additions.............

[ol][*]Same as above plus............[*]Screamin Eagle Performance heads[*]Cometics .030" head gaskets
[*]Daytona Twin Tec TC88 ignition (mappable)
[*]Andrews TW37 cams[*]Magnecor wires and coil[*]Basically ALL new electronics minus regulator
[/ol]
Got everything bolted on per all manufacturers documentation, turns over "just nice". You can hear that something wants out!!

My problem, I'm having a hard time starting it, actually it ran on one cylinder at first, and once I get the thing started, I've really got to "stay on it" to keep her running. I adjusted the mixture needle out to make it richer, the further I got the easier it seemed to start. Still had to play with the throttle to keep her going. Does this sound like the normal condition before I get it "dialed-in"?

Should I try to rejet the Keihin, and work with the timing. It sounds LEAN to me.

Thanx for everybody's input ahead of time,

DannoU

p.s.
I'm up in Michigan dealing with temps. in the teens. Doing it in the garage, alone and having a "helluvalottafun" doing it too. BUT HELP is needed!! THANX AGAIN!!!

With your cam and head change, I think a re-jet is in order. HOWEVER, you say the temp is in the teens and unless you plan on riding in that kind of temperature, don't bother with re-jetting yet. If you get it right for that extreme cold, it will be too fat when the weather gets nice.
