I purchased a K&N 1499 - replacement for the stock air filter - but should give me a little more air flow - probably won't need to adjust the EFI . Any thoughts?
ultra,,,, lets put it this way,,, youll get more air with one of those after markets than you do stock,
your motor will only suck so much, all we can do is give it all we can, thus trashin stock junk
The SE pipes he listed are the older ones which will sound pretty good. It's the 07 SE Slip-ons that are only 3dB louder than the 07 stok mufflers.
Lets not confuse sound with "SE no good". V&H is louder, if you want loud.
Take a look at nightrider.com under the TC96 data and see the dyno numbers for a Touring with Stage1, Download, and SE mufflers. Maybe not "loud enough" but looks to make very good power / torque.
I think the Supertrapp SE slip-ons are VERY clean looking. Again, according to the tech personnel at Supertrapp, these are supposed to be identical to the older Screaming Eagle Performance mufflers of the days of old.......particularly model 65115-98B.......this was also verified by Jamie at Fuelmoto.
If you look at the stock # of the Supertrapps that I link you all to, you will see the "65115" in the model number itself.
I hope to see a bit of a performance gain, but what I'm mostly after is a cooler running bike with continued reliability.
The Supertrapp SE's ARE the old H-D Screamin Eagles. Supertrapp originallymade them for H-D. they are slightly louder on Idle like the new H-D SE's, but go to about 18db louder under load. Not too bad for someone who doesn't like LOUD. This is the setup I plan to go with, I already have the K&N 3909 and will install it this weekend. I am having the dealer FLASH the ECM with a canned map for now, with just the A/C. I want to see how much or if it cools down any with just the A/C and canned map.Next will be the pipes and possibly a SERT, but not now. It is my belief the heat issue should be addressed by the MOCO and not me and you the owners.I fully intend to exhaust all attemps for them to make it right, beforeI upgrade to more than the A/C.
