p0117 code
that code is for engine temperature, the sensor works off variable resistance. the ecm supplies 5 volts to the signal circuit and ground to low reference circuit . when engine is cold the resistance is high as engine temp increases the resistance decreases the ecm detects high temp indication it set code. so your sensor is the most likely cause its telling the ecm your temp is at normal operation or higher when its actually cold and the fuel delivery is too lean for the cold engine until it warms up. disconnect the et sensor and test for 5 volts and ground with ignition on. its at the back side of front cylinder. use a small paper clip to insert into the terminal ends don't jam the tester leads in there it will spread them out and cause problems of bad contact. it u have 5 volts and ground replace sensor.
