Default Engine build help

Hey guys I have a cam set coming from fuel moto with their pushrods. Tw-555 cams, and cam install kit. I have all the specialty tools ordered for the cam install. Is there anything else I should upgrade while I'm in it for the cams so I don't have to go into it twice?

Did hillside recommend that spring? Would it be okay with the stock pump and camplate? Hillside told me I don't need an upgraded pump or camplate is why I ask.

You don't need to add the Baisley spring or shim the pressure relief valve in the cam plate. The new Axtell pressure relief valve assembly is a nice upgrade to the OEM setup; not expensive and is getting good reviews from the guys the run them.

You should certainly upgrade the inner INA cam bearings to the SE hardware/Torrington B168 needle/roller bearings.

The fuelmoto kit comes with torrington bearings. What about the zippers Red Shift Dual Piston Cam Chain Tensioners?

just did 107 f/m kit on a friends bike with th777 cams used se adjustable push rods the valve train is as quiet as a Honda engine! mine has valve train noise that I don't like. was puzzled at how quiet this one is. checked oil pressure hot 210 degrees 21psi at idle 57 psi at 2000 rpms compared to mine 20 at idle and 38 psi at 2000-4000 rpms so if I raise the oil pressure it should build the lifters up and less lash in valve train. comparing the two builds I hope this helps Scott suggested the shim made by zippers he has in stock. will have it tomorrow will know by sat if this helps with the concern.

Baisley spring and shims were made for like OLD 2002 bikes, with ZERO oil pressure. A lifter takes around 15psi to keep it pumped. Sooo, I wish to hear if this helps you? In the past... one time I spent a TON of money to make a bike quiet. Got close, but NO cigar. Some engines are simply noisy.

I hope so too after just finishing this new build, it so quiet it has less noise than before. I talked with zippers, ERT they sell a lot of springs to newer bike customers who have install bigger cams.

Todd,
That engine always did have valve train noise @ the 96" level with the 555's, correct?
We do not use a spring or shim as a rule in the late model engines, but seeing as how you wanted more pressure, the oil pressure shim was my least expensive suggestion.

Good luck with that but don't get your hopes up. Your money, they ain't cheap, would be better spent on a set of quality lifters. JMHO.
