I just got a set of V&H SS on the Sportster that I got used for cheap.
The shop I got to install them said it didn't need rejetting and they adjusted the A/F mix. I've lost almost all of my torque and get a loud "jake brake" sound on shifting. Any suggestions on where to go from here?
I don't really care about having the loudest pipes around just some mellow tones that sound better than the 21HP Kohler sound the stock pipes provided.
I found a set of baffles out of some Cobra pipes I had on my previous bike.
Installed them this morning and most of my torque is back and it also got rid of the throttle-off "chatter".
I think I will order the qq baffles from Vance and give them a try.
