First off I have a 2006 street bob and I just purchased it used. It did not come with a manual. Now the problem is I have been messing around with the security system to figure it out. But I think I locked my self out. I replaced the fob battery I checked the battery terminals and hooked up a tender quick connection pigtail. I do hear the fuel pump kick on when it turns over but it just turns the motor. But no spark or fuel. I also don't have the pin neither does the guy I bought it from. Any info is good info thanks guys
You should be able to download the owners manual from H-D's website. Go to the Owners tab and register. That will at least tell you how the system works and what to do!
If it uses the same security system as my 2014 Fat Boy Lo you should get a message on the Odometer to "ENTER PIN". If you get that the system is working, and you have an issue with the fob, and not knowing your pin (which you need to reset it).
Also the manual indicates the "proper" procedure for disconnecting power is make sure the fob is within range of bike (the range is pretty short, like 2 feet), turn the ignition switch to "Ignition", then pull the main fuse from its holder, or disconnect the battery.
Also, when I bought the bike and they were going over stuff with me, one of the things they said was if I ever had any issues with it, including forgot the code, or the fob stopped working they could hook the bike up and reset the pin and / or reassign a new fob.
