Default Engine Light and Samson Big Guns 3

Hello,

Today I have installed a brand new Sansom Big Guns 3 Street Sweepers (Model S2-859) in my Fat Boy Harley Davidson Model 2007. After the installation a yellow fuel injection Light lit in Panel (picture1). Is there any defect with my exhaust? With original HD exhaust installed this light is off.

I think the Big Guns are well installed (picture2).

I think the reason of this light was lit is because a cable (picture3) is disconnected from the original exhaust part (picture4).

But in the installation instructions are nothing about this cable a this part of the original exhaust. What can I supposed to do. I have to install any part to turn off this light? Is there any kind of jumper to plug in that cable? Is there any risk of engine damage? I’m whorried about this question. Is there any way to turn off that light only for this issue and mantain the function of the light for all other issues?

Thanks in Advance,

Rodrigo Ramos

International models have 2 actuators that are part of their emissions systems....

1 is the ACTIVE AIR INTAKE, located at the AC Housing

2d is the Active Exhaust valve....

Since you disconnected it, there will be a CEL (Check Engine Light), until you get a plug to "Cheat" the system to thinking it is still there....

Go here to order what you need... http://bigjoechoppers.com.au

Shovelhead Bob,

Thanks a lot. I have ordered at this moment. Is there any damage to engine if I ride my bike until the plug is delivered?

Hi Reizao,

no problems with riding it, except the iritating light.

once you plug the plugs in, ensure you clear the error codes otherwise you will have a historic code.

Kind regards

Mick

How do the Samsons sound? I pick mine up tommorow. Never have heard them, just liked the looks.
By the way they look great

Hey 07sophtayl,

How do you clear the error codes on a HD?
I'm new at these bikes, just off a Suki M109r and almost onto a fatbob.
The Suk code clear was just disconnect the bikes ECU powersupply and voila, error codes gone.
Not sure about HD's yet though.

Thanks !
