I'm told that the True Dual is ok for my 1993 Ultra.
Do I need to do anything with the carbs?
Should I use a K&N breather as well (is it necessary at this time)
Most posts revolve around newer machines so I'm curious about my old baby
Thanks
If you put on the pipes, it's not neccesary to change the intake, but it will wake it up. You will need to tune the carb, as you will be running fairly lean if you don't...
Thanks Mac. -
Another question about changing the intake.
I've heard the term "hi-flow kit from K&N" but was told they are had to find now. Is changing the intake a matter of just going to the K&N replacement filter or is there another hardware change that has to take place.
My 93 isn't a powerhouse by any means but I'm satisfied. With pipes, carbs and possibly the intake done is the difference going to be noticable?
Not familiar with your year/model. But, I can help you this much before someone jumps in that knows for certain. The Stage I high flow kits on the newer models remove a large black plastic piece that sits on the back of the chrome air cleaner cover. If your air cleaner is completely encapsulated, you will be changing that as well. Not a lot of help, but should get you going until TC, Skip, or one of the others sees this thread.
