However sponsors can blantently advertise this?

IB Brands, the owners of HD Forums, has no control over the content of those ads. They are an automated service and are based on information they gather from YOUR computer. Not every one sees the same ads.
As to the what our members post on HD Forums, we do have control over that. The rule against profanity is Rule 1 of the HD Forums rules which you and everyone else here agrees to when they join. Clear enough?
Just an idea but when I saw an add that I didn't want to see, in the upper right hand corner of that add is a light blue triangle. I clicked on that triangle and it let me opt out of seeing that add any more if I didn't want to and it worked.
