Default Is there a way to hide a sub forum?

When I do a search for something useful, I have to weed through the results as 90% of them are in the "games" forum. I do not care to see this forum and it makes it really difficult to find information as it seems thats a popular forum. Ive tried marking it as read, but it still shows up in the global search results.
Thanks

Do an "advanced search". Maybe that'll help.

Yes the advanced search will allow you to narrow down what you are looking for...
Good Luck...

No offense to this forum but the problem with the search engines that use the forum software is that they are nowhere near as sophisticated as the likes of Google. You get repetition, search results from peoples' sigs that have nothing to do with what you're looking for, etc. I like to search forums via google using the site keyword. For instance:

site:https://www.hdforums.com/forum/ tensioner replacement

You can exclude words to exclude certain forums but you may not have to.

I do this too and it helps a lot. The advanced search via the forum is fine if you're doing something fairly specific, but sometimes I'm not and will just hit "new posts" or "exhaust" and want to view all the threads. But typically both of those last searches bring up 12 billion thread in games.
