It all depends on how motivated people are. The problem was and it remains... the POD was/is filled with extremists that spew hate speech from all sides of the political spectrum and people like you who can't smell their own BiaS. I am loving the irony however, of a right-wing SJW being responsible for the current unintended consequences. It's a beautiful thing.

If Wodan or anyone else pays to play, so be it. But in order to be able to pay the forum should be able to verify where you are posting from and insist that be displayed. There has been too much pretense to be American, Canadian or wherever, when in reality we still do not know. To participate in the POD at the very least the forum owners should know who the trolls are. Mods should not be allowed to use second accounts either.

This forum is owned and operated by an entity in the business of making money. They are not interested in making a social statement, defending free speech, or anything like that. When the POD antics started to interfere with their ability to make money, they changed the rules; not unsurprisingly in a way that continued to generate revenue for them. If I thought for one second that contacting the owners of the forum and explaining how it had become an outlet for hate speech, I would have done something about it. Don't think the thought didn't cross my mind. But, guess what? In the grand scheme of things, this forum is nothing: it's a motorcycle riding forum and I am perfectly happy participating without the POD. You know what is something? Twitter banning Alex Jones and Infowars. I can say that I was a part of that. A small part, but being on the side of right that I can be proud of.
