Is there a way to set up new post to only show specific forums of interest for example, general, touring, off topic etc without getting games, new members etc of no interest. going to each in order individually seems the only option.

I know.
Hit Search forums and you should be able to filter your new posts.
I may be wrong.

This has been brought many time before and to my knowledge...which isn't always 100% right...there's no way to pick and choose which posts you're going to see, when you click NEW POSTS. Sorry.

Thanks, I can stop looking then. and don't take it wrong, but when you guys start playing them games and some days 500 new members you can go 10 pages before a thread of interest shows up in new posts.
Back to one forum topic at a time.

Personally, I wish there was a way to pick and chose what threads or sections you can see or not see. And I've always went to the sections that interest me. That way I can see the new posts I want to see. I've NEVER used the New Posts option. Maybe you should too.
BTW...there way more people posting a whole lot more and way more often in the BS section, than in the Games these days.

Chicken has graciously re-opened the thread so the following info could be shared.

if you want to see new posts from only the sections you like, when you open the forums page you will see an engine icon on the far left of each section. double click the engine icon and it will turn grey, meaning that section has been marked as "read" and no posts will show up when you click the "new posts" link.

if you want to see posts from the "humor" section of off topic, but not "games" posts, click on "off topic" and double click the icon left of the "games" section.

then hit new posts and browse only the topics you want to see or reply to.

Thanks, that will work until there is a new post, then you will have to turn it off again. too bad there is no config file to make it a permanent choice.
