People, on a regular basis, go to the sub forum titled General Topics/ Tech tips. They are immediately hit with a barrage of welcome to the forum responses. Then a long irritating post appears that basically says learn how to use the forums. They are asking general questions (like the title suggests they should do) but instead of answers, they are welcomed to the forums? Nowhere does it say that general topics means its a welcome forum.
I think all who want to be welcomed would naturally go to the new members area.
Sorry for the rant but the thread clogging gets old when someone just wants a simple answer to a general question.. Maybe people just like to increase their post count?
What's happening is that these people go to the new members section and instead of introducing themselves they start to ask questions. Then a moderator tries to move them somewhere that their question can be answered. Problem is that all of the Welcome to HD Forums posts are moved with them.
