Robb, I agree that my example was a bad one. However, many parts like frame components are unique to Evo era bikes on several models such as softails, touring and dyna.
I would rather see the Evo forum under classics then engines.
Less than half of the topics in the Evo section are engine related.
So what do you think is the poop in his meatloaf, The fact that he’s realizing he overpaid for his latest bike and EVO’s do it all for a quarter of the money? Or maybe its some way to feel like an elitist and you’ve got more going on for yourself to have the latest and greatest?
Maybe there should be a section for “Snobs” instead of trying to find a spot for classics?

I'm not sure why this is your conclusion? Road Kings are listed as models covered in the Touring section.
To some that may make sense. However like other times in HD history the EVO is a start and end point. A Harley yes but a class all it's own. EVO refers to more than the engine. One can argue that no other period of HD's history played a more important role in HD becoming what it is now. Many would agree with out the EVO there would be no HD today.
Some on this forum were born and started riding after the last new EVO was produced. To them a RK is a RK But a TC or M8 RK is a different bike.
Really liked my TC's 96,103's like both my M8's. But my 1996 EVO FB is the only bike that has not and will never leave.
PS: Of course they followed a different road with the Sportster.
