What I have seen on another forum is the user name gets changed and with a new password it is very unlikely someone could then log in on it.
It preserves the comments made in threads.
The only thing is the public view of the user's profile is possibly what a user would want deleting or hiding somehow.
what a user would want is to delete an unwanted account. Not hiding anything. Obviously. Deleting accounts on other forums DOES NOT REMOVE POSTS. Not a tough one here.
