Login problems
I'm running Firefox 2.0.0.11 and have been having trouble with logins here for the past month or so. The forum will continually log me out, frequently within sessions, and in a given day I may need to log in as many as 10 times. Sometimes it'll occur several times in a matter of minutes, when composing a reply, for example. I emailed the sysops numerous times but received no response.
I have no pop-up blockers active except the standard Firefox setting (Block pop-up windows). I have a number of add-ons (extensions) like Adblock and flashblock, but these have no pop-up settings. I'm having no trouble with any other site regarding log-on issues.

No feedback, as usual. I guess this problem is permanent and I'll have to either adjust or abandon the forum. Logging in 10 times per day may make the latter more feasilble. Or, just read messages and don't respond to anyone, which doesn't require logging in.
More notes: Today when trying to login I received the sporadic info page, which doesn't cover Firefox but all pointers have been covered (cookies enabled, etc.). I also followed some pointers on another thread, like activating pop-up windows for this site, etc. No improvement. Lately, after logging in, the Touring forum has returned me to a page showing this date in 2007 as Page 1. The only way to correct it is to reload the site, which of course logs me out again. Sometimes I have to login to write a reply, then it logs me out while I'm composing the message. When I log back in it returns me to the compose page with my text deleted, so I must always copy the text in the reply before logging in. This is not repeatable, but I still have login numerous times every day, and the username and password are not remembered. When I'm logged out there are multiple cookies for hdforums.com in the list, so Firefox is apparently not deleting anything. This is ridiculous, and at this point I regret having contributed money to this forum when support is so lacking.
As a follow-up, I've done this before and achieved temporary success, and did it again today with no login problems since. I deleted all cookies linked to hdforums.com, which were presumably re-created the next time I entered the forum. If the problem persists it may be easier to delete the cookies periodically rather than fight login prompts continually.
No thanks go to the sysops who have provided no help whatsoever with this issue.

First off, I'd like to apologize for what you've had to deal with. I dont know who these "sysops" that you've emailed are, but I'll try to address this issue as best I can. I ask that you bare with me while I run thru a few things I know of to check.
First off, I want to make sure of the following:
1.) That you have checked the box for saving login as a cookie
2.) That your timezone is correct

Now, the time adjustment is something that each user has to change unfortunately. Not having the correct date & time zone can cause you login problems. I dont exactly understand why it does this, but for some reason it seems to affect a few users. The current time zone selected is for the midwest (Indiana). Since your in Louisiana, you'd need to set it to 2.
If you've already made sure both of these have been selected correctly, then it's time to look at your web browser.
My first question for you would be have you tried using Internet Explorer to view the site to see if it is doing the same thing? The reason I ask is this really helps limit the scope of what potential problems it could be. If Internet Explorer or Netscape are working fine, then it means its something in Firefox. If its not, then it means it could be something else entirely. I just have to ask.
In Firefox, we want to open up the options dialog box.
Open FireFox > Go to Tools at the top > Select Options from the drop down Menu
This will open a new window with a bunch of tabbed options at the top. We'll start with Security. Click the Security Tab.
In the Security section, should be an area marked Passwords. Make sure that Remember Passwords for Sites is checked.
The next section we want to check is Privacy. Click the Privacy Tab.
In the Privacy section, we want to look at the Cookies section.There are a couple of different ways we can set this up, so I'll use the one I would use to make it easier.
First - Make sure the Keep cookies from this site box is checked. You want to make sure the drop down box is set until they expire also.
Second - Click the Exceptions box and add the following site to your exceptions list. www.hdforums.comThen click Allow.
We now want to visit the Content section. Click the Content Tab.
In the Content section, we want to take a look at the first section. Make sure that Block Popups & Load images automatically are both checkmarked. I would also open the exceptions list for Block Popups and add www.hdforums.com to that list. It will allow all the necessary popups for the site.
I would then click okay at the bottom of the options box and close FireFox. I would then re-open FireFox and try to browse to HDForums and see if it retains it.
I realize you may have done some or all of these suggestions. As a last resort, I'd suggest even uninstalling and re-installing FireFox. Please let me know what you can and I'll continue to try and help you.

Okay, I'm having this same problem today. \\; I read the posts and I read Devil's Reject reply.
 \\;
Here's my problem. \\; I recieved a user time out message and some crap about if I'm an AOL user. \\; I have Comcast HighSpeed internet, my computer says my connection is excellent (it should be, its the main desktop and all the others are connected through this one, they aren't being used or even on at this time) AND I always use Internet Explorer 6. \\; I cleared my cookies and temp folders last night, and had no probs intially logging in this morning, however it sent me that message when I hit ok to reply to a post.
 \\;
According to the reply there should be no reason why I'm getting logged off. \\; What's the deal? \\; Do I need to upgrade to IE7 already? \\; did they come out with IE 8 yet???
