Default Unsolicited Emails

Just got the following emailwhich referenced the HDF site:

From: MSR from Harley Davidson Forums [ceo@motorcycleshopreview.com]
To: my personal email address
Subj: Motorcycle Shop Review

We would really appreciate your support for your local bike shop, submit a review or add a shop in your area http://www.motorcycleshopreview.com

Thank you for supporting the biker community!

MSR Staff

My question is two-fold:

Are they harvesting our email addresses? Or is HDForums providing it to them?

We are not giving out your email addresses and I will forward this to Big Admin. If you will notice, your email does not come up when you email another member. It just says "you have received an email from HDF memeber Terry1955. Let me know if you get anything else.

Thanks
Terry

P.S. I just checked and I got the exact email

Roger that Terry. I thought as much but wanted to let someone know. My bad on the sponsor issue Terry. I just assumed and you know what that means...What I really wanted to do was to let you know it appears as though someone may have breached and been able to harvest email addresses for site members. I'll go in and edit original to remove the sponsor reference.

I received the same email. They must be getting our email addresses from this site somehow.

He emailed you by clicking on email Jim Dawson and cutting and pasting his message. Not everyone got this email and the guy has been banned for a couple of days now. He was a Troll. HDF does not give out your email address.
