I just realized something though...
At one point there was a message on the front page of the forum apologizing for the "issues" lately. I then thought to myself, "Oh, good... It's not me!" But the issues never went away. So this tells me that the forum knew about some sort of issue, but probably have not been able to resolve it yet. If this is so, I wish they would tell us so we can stop troubleshooting our systems.

We have a list of Admin and Moderators at the top of this forum. You can always pm one of us if you are having a specific problem. The problem is that the forum is running fine for most members. I have no problem at all. I have no idea when you can't log on if you don't pm me.

Another problem that some members think is a forum problem is the ability to post in the classified section or political section. You have to be a member for at least 30 days and have at least 26 posts before you can post in either section.

I'm sorry, I can't seem to find the list of Admin & Moderators... Am I missing something?

The forum may be running fine for most members, but there does seem to be a very large number who are having problems. So am I correct in that if it's not the majority, then nobody will research the issue? For me, and many others, it's not just logging in, but trying to add posts, responding with quotes, getting double posts, or the system being very boggy. Or, how about this error, which I get on every page?

I'm sorry, but it's just getting frustrating. And I know their has been at least two computer techs on here with good equipment, running some tests, and still having issues even on freshly formatted systems. Hopefully these issues will magically disappear as quickly as they magically appeared.

Terry, I would PM you if I had something solid to PM you with. I can't reproduce the problem, so I can't tell you exactly what the problem is. I have been working on troubleshooting things here myself. Certainly there is some common variable among the many of us who *are* having problems, but I haven't found it yet.

Even for myself, as I am posting and responding, I can click on one response and it goes right through, click on a second and it takes several minutes to post. It seemed to happen with quoted responses, but there are times they work fine. It seemed to work better with quick responses - no quote, but there are times when those take several minutes to post. Sometimes it will eventually post if I give it enough time. Some times it will just give me an error message after several minutes. Some times after the error message, I can see the message *did* post, and some times it didn't. Some times I have to try two or three times before it will post. Some times it posts fairly quickly but I end up with double posts.

I have tried three browsers (Firefox, IE & Chrome), I have run every scan imaginable on my systems. I tried it on two systems in my office, my laptop & my wife's system. I built an all new system - new HD, clean OS install, clean browser installs. ... and I am *still* having the same problems.

I am about down to thinking this;
1) HD Forums is OK because most people don't have any issues
2) My system is OK because it's all clean & new
3) The commonality among those of us having problems may have to do with our ISP or with our connection in some way (assuming #1 & #2 are true)

I am experiencing similar issues to MidnitEvil, I run a MacBookPro and have no issues elsewhere. The HDF is slow to load and navigate, posting replies is sometimes fast and sometimes painfully slow, hard to explain.

Same issues here. Sometimes I can post,other I cannot. Sometimse it' fast as it should be othes it's not. No commonality about it. I have a clean computer I use for this too, and that does not affect this issue either. I run Win XP w Firefox. Tried a mac at a friends the other day and ti was as it should be. No issues in any way but, but who knows if it was ISP, the computer or what. This is way past getting old, but since I can't find a solution, I'll have to live with it.

If you could, when you have these "slow load" times, see what the thing is that is holding it up and let us know! (it should show up in the bottom left hand corner of the browser for example in firefox!)
