Default "Thanks"?

I see on the left top of a post where a poster has received "Thanks." I'd like to thank a number of posters besides just writing a reply post to them but add a statistic that will last.
How do you do this?
I did a couple of searches and checked the FAQ but no joy. I thought it might be part of the new Club Member thing but I couldn't figure out how to thank one of them either.

-A thankful dude.

Yes, methinks it is part of the "Supporters & Club Members" feature.
I didn't read the exact tale about it, but I think it tallies for those elite "supporters & members" but not for the rest of the riffraff.

Edit: I see below your post, my useful recognition of your most informative & post that I responded to. If the useful status of the post changes; I see that I can withdraw my thanx.

I've never been able to make the Thanks function work.

I've thanked a couple of people and see anything happen. I guess you gotta be an insider for it to work. Hmmmm... sounds like the making of a new post!!!!

Default Thanks

I assume it's there, good enough for me. Friends do not need to thank each other. Their actions show their thanks
