Thanks for the answer though. Thought maybe those "features" you get for donating got rid of the flashing spam.
I will try the ad-blocker, too hot to ride here in Northern America today.
I get the feeling you doubt everything. Here's a screen shot of me
logged in today and you can plainly see it's IE and it's full of spam
and flashing whatever. I have no trouble with it, sure it's slow
sometimes while scanning a reply I send, or loading a new page,
but remember, it's doing that for your protection. As far as other
faster sites, sure, they're out there. I visited a Harley forum yesterday
that loaded fast and guess what, no one was home and the same dam
threads were still displayed that were there a month ago. If you want
good results, update your IE to IE9, they did update the forum for IE9
and that alone makes IE8, 7,6 and older susceptible to problems. I also
read a lot on here suggesting to dump temporary files and cookies, not
actually a good thing. Temporary files are put there to help make browsing
faster, not slower, so don't be quick to dump everything. I do it selectively
by name and date. Anyway, good luck with what ever you do.

Edit: I also snapped a shot of that "Google BS" to look at. It has add
blocker and it's fast. No harm in trying it.

I tried the AdBlocker with no noticeable improvement.
I then read that browse-in-private or "**** mode" is a blocker so I tried that... No better.
I'll update to IE9 tomorrow and give it a shot..
I don't doubt everything.
You mention other sites traffic volume. I think I'm not alone in suspecting this is a traffic/capacity issue with this site. That makes me skeptical about changing my browser.

I'll try IE9

Once the 30 unlimited trial is over on AdBlocker you only get 200 ad blocks. Lasts less than 2 pages on this site. IE9 without Adblock works fine on my laptop. Unfortunately I can only get IE8 on this XP machine. Good luck.

Faaaaaaaaarking S L O W web site.

Every page - it is "Downloading" something and takes forever running on IE and broadband.

Other web sites - no problem.

Feels like I'm back in dialup mode again.

I have been one of the complainers about the slowness of this site. It is still fairly slow, but I did notice a significant improvement today. I have done nothing to my computer, so perhaps somebody at HDF is really working on the problem???? If so - keep it up. It is much appreciated!

And I thought it was me. I've been bitchin' too. I didn't know IE9 was for Win7 only so figured I was stuck...
Low and behold this afternoon it's been loading and refreshing like I would expect. Hmmm, now I can just go back to being paranoid. There must be something I can bitch about... Oh yah it's headed to 100 degrees tomorrow.

Looks like somebody added some pipe!
