It's quite possible the cookies were already on your system from other sites. Depending on what you run for a browser (I run Chrome) you can get rid of the evil cookies. You can also see what sites are the worst; some sites will give you a cookie or two but the ones that deposit 20+ cookies in a visit are the ones that give evil cookies and cause things to pop up later on.

Go look at your cookies - in Chrome it's:

Click on the wrench, options, under the bonnet, content settings, All Cookies and Site Data.

You will then see a list of all your websites and the associated cookies. If you click on a listing you can see the individual cookies (Ace Hardware gave me 5 cookies) and if you click on the little X you can delete them. If you want you can delete all your cookies but be careful with that unless you remember all your logins and passwords.

Hope that helps.

Hdforums.com has 15 cookies, and www.hdforums.com has 5 cookies. You can click on each cookie to see what it does, and delete it individually if you want.

I been internettin for a while too.

I keep getting a redirect virus that send google and yahoo searches to a site called Happili. Even Norton 360 doesn't see to remove it.

Thanks for the links. I am not a computer type at all. As matter of fact this forum is about the limit of my abilities! ;-) I'll take it step by step.
