Your post count is to high. It's the forums way of slowing you down.

I think today was a bit of an aberration even if you have Chrome or Firefox.
I've also have FF and its the same with it.

Haven't seen Trublock, but I am using AdBlock +.. its supposed to be pretty good.

what gets me is sometimes its fine in here for a while then the next thread I go to is gets slower than crap again.

Don't make sense, as there is no constant factor when the forum slows down. only thing is almost always slows down when I go to the ADVANCE MODE.

I too was caught up in it. Everything else was fine.

I am an IT person and I believe your server “may” have been compromised. I visit the site regularly from different computers. Our network proactive threat protection shut down access to this site several times in the last few days. The logs shows a redirect to a rouge site know for installing fake antivirus software. I don’t know if it’s your server or one of your sponsor’s links but it would also explain the slow response times people are complaining about. I would run a complete system scan on your web server and make sure all back doors are plugged. If you are using IIS make sure it’s locked down.

As for visitors, make sure you have the latest virus software installed and updated. If you think you may have been infected by this or any other site try the free scan tool located at malwarebytes.org. Choose the Free version and DO NOT check “trial” after install or it will stop working in 30 days. This is not an active scanning progarm, it is only for cleaning already infected systems.

I am not saying the site has a problem, I am only saying it seems that way on my end.

If you purchase the Malwarebytes program then it is active and will stop you from going into suspected sites. This can also be a pain when trying to browse a known "good" site when Malwarebytes blocks you from doing so. They seem to trend to the side of caution.

The server issues statement could mean anything. From OS to ISP to a redirect issue. It indeed could be a redirect Trojan but with the amount of sites owned and operated by IB the IT guys are pretty sharp. Seems to be a thing of the past now so it looks like they were able to wrap it up what ever it was.

I don't have malwarebytes running. Our network is protected by an enterprise solution by Symantec and a Sonic Firewall. When going to your site a few times it showed very clearly that the browser was being redirected to a known rouge site that installs fake anti virus. Just saying. Glad everything got worked out.

The last time I updated FF the Adblock add-on disappeared. I looked in the FF add ons and found Trublock. Works real well.
Forum worked fine this morning, now a little notchy again.

I also use Symantec Enterprise on my servers and triple Cisco firewalls.

I have an IT background but being a Mod is not being IT. As you understand, they articulate only what info is needed at the time they want it expressed. The term maintenance is generic and widely used here.
