Default A Good Shop Gets A Bad Rap

Greetings riders!

I don't (yet) own a Harley, got into riding last year and since picked up an 81 Kawi 750LTD, an '82 CB900C (sidelined with charging problems problems) and an 87 ZL1000 (not at fault near fatal accident, bike needs work). I almost picked up a 1200 sportster earlier this year but the guy sold it before I could gather the dough.

That said, riding is the ****. I'm about to take off on my newly repaired KZ750 for a ride in Brooklyn. Here's why I'm writing y'all, and haven't yet found the right place to do it - I am VERY happy with the mechanic I found in Queens, NYC. They're called JL cycles. Jay did an amazing turnaround on my bike. I just took the time to write him up a sick, detailed review on Yelp (for the curious).

That's all fine and good, but I did a search for his shop online, and found this crappy review on this forum by a member who has since been banned. The post is 3 years old and the user was questioned by everyone in the thread, but the comment ranks 2nd on google for a search of JL cycles. I think it SUCKS that some jerk who got banned here spread some false crap about this shop years ago and it continues to hurt their reputation. (I am not an employee, just a happy customer who wants do what I can to drive more traffic to his shop, he did an amazing and FAST job on my bike).

Is there any mod I can talk to about at least getting the title modified on that post so the name isn't there anymore? I don't it's reasonable to ask to remove the entire post, even though I do think it's doing way more harm than good... but I would hope that the mods have the capability to modify the title to remove the name from the thread, given the thread's contents, the fact the user lost credibility later by being banned, and the fact that his yelp reviews are all pretty much awesome.

Anyway, trying to do a good deed here for a cool MC shop. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I hope to come back to this forum as an HD owner, but I gotta sell at least one other bike first haha.

thanks all and safe riding

F

I read the "crappy review" and the very few posters on the thread pretty much summed up the complainant as a troll.
I don't think anyone reading this review would take it seriously and wouldn't worry too much about it.
I guess you could PM a moderator and plead your case.
Don't know if they could or would do anything about it though......

Just because the guy got banned doesn't negate his experience or review. It will remain intact and people can make up their own mind. Why would we do this on the word of someone who is only joining HD Forums in order to change it? How do we know you're not part of the company? Nope, not enough info.
