Default Springs for HD Premium fork carts?

Looks like the springs that come with the HD premium fork cartridges are replaceable (at least there is a p/n for them on the fiche) so I was wondering if they could be "upgraded" - many of us (myself included) are beyond the "average" 185lb rider weight HD's are made around, and would benefit greatly from higher rate springs. Since I have the cartridge already, it seems like an easy fix. Called the dealer and they have no info on spring alternatives...

Any thoughts?

As far as I know there is no difference. As long as it's the correct size a spring is a spring. You choose from the available rates.

That is the operative statement.

The racetech springs quoted are for the standard dampening rod forks. Cartridge forks are different spring design (diameter, length, end finishing, etc.). So far, I can't find any. Racetech offered to dissect my forks to see if they could match up with something they had, but being on the opposite coast makes that difficult.

Diameter is the main thing. Length can be made up with spacers. If you like I can give you my suspension guys number. He is in MA. Not terribly far from you.

Probably get a similar answer. He is a bit swamped at the moment since this weekend is the first track day of the season, next weekend is opening weekend for the racing season up here and people in general wait until it starts to get nice out to get their suspension done.
