Default Burly Slammer Plus Shocks

Hey, so I just installed some Burly Slammer Plus shocks. On my 2015 iron 883. They look great! I really like the slammed look. I got the slammer plus, because it has a red flat wire on the bottom of the shock. Which is supposed to give you up to two inches of travel. Which I wanted because these shocks are only 10.5 inches.
But when I lowered the bike off the jack. The red flat wire part of the shock is fully compressed just from the weight of the bike.
Does any know if that is how they are supposed to be? Or did I do something wrong? Thanks

The red spring is a flat spring and gets compressed by your bikes preload. The rest of the spring is a proportional spring and is your suspension.

Ok, perfect! Thanks chopper_man! So it sounds like it is doing/working the way it should. But it is good to know for sure. I appreciate your input
