M8 Heritage--Suspension mods
I got a few Qs, regarding suspension on the m8 heritage. I am planning on swapping in a new rear shock. Since stock is 13.1", I wanted to go 13.5", for a bit more height. Since its only half inch difference, will belt tension still be fine? what about the jiffy stand. How about leaving the front end stock while swapping the rear. any ill effects? again, less than half inch length I cant see making that big of a difference. I put +1 inch shocks on a dna in the past, both belt and jiffy stand alright. I did the rear first, then the front.
On the front suspension, I had figured id swap out the stock springs with progressive's, like I did on my dyna years back. In looking at my fsm though, is that not an option? is one of my forks a cartridge, or inverted? I havent looking into anything on the frontend is.
just trying to get the last few bits of questions i got before i start ordering parts for the spring project.

Since the M8 Heritage has a Mono Shock, with a 2:1 ratio, you will raise the rear 2x what the longer shock is. That's not that much, around .8" taller out back. It will be a little more leaned over on the stand.
If you leave the front height stock, the steering will be a little quicker.
I put Racetech springs up front. I don't think progressive springs are enough of an upgrade.
