Default 80 spoke vs 40 spoke?

Other than the look is there any advantage to 80 spoke vs say 40 or 60 spoke? I like the look of the 80 spoke, and that what I have just purchased. I do realize they will be harder to clean, but wanted opinions on them.
Thanks

Pretty sure the more spokes, the stronger the rim too, but I am not an expert. I personally love the look of 40's, but I've heard they are not as strong as 60's, 80's or 120's.
