I recently tried to change fork oil in my 2002 Roadking. I tried to cheat by evacuating the forks through the drain holes and refilling through drain holes. I had sucess on the non cartridge side(evacuated and refilled with correct amount of oil). I can't say the same for the cartridge side. I can only get about 4.5 oz. of oil in that side. I repeated the procedure 3 times. The funny thing is it rides better or firmer than before. The lowers were changed by the dealer and I can only assume that I got more oil in than they originally had. Has anyone had any experience with this before I disaasemble the whole front end. Thanks!
Thanks Bob,
I have since tried my procedure again, and have sucessfully injected equal amounts of oil. It rides fine and I'm going to run it for awhile. I'll keep you posted.
Are you sure you have the cartridge type? I'm about to change mine and the manual says only the electrglides ahve the cartridges. Road kings should be both traditional?
