I'm trying to install new fork seals on my 1998 King. The large washer that sits under the seal won't go down to the ledge that it's supposed to sit on inside the slider. It slops right into place if I remove the tube, but once I put it back onto the tube and try to put the assembly into place the washer hangs up in the retaining ring slot and no amount of wiggling and jiggling seems to make it fall down into place. I want it to fall down into place before I slide the seal on and press it into place. I've tried glaring at it for minutes at a time and have almost used up all my bad words on it and it still won't cooperate. Any advice? Thanks.
Amy might put a smile on your face for a while! I don't know if she deals with that specific part, but her video shows how to rebuild a set of our forks here. Scroll down a little.
