So it's looking like I'm going to do this bike in a couple phases as I miss riding it and want it off the lift. Digging into the engine will be a winter project and will powder coat a few parts (wheels) when I'm in the engine. I do want to mount a used 1019 Thunderheader I purchased a while back. I've been waiting for a year for a new Thunderheader but I'll run this one til new one comes in. Bought the Joe Sobol rear mounting kit and wanted to fab a steel piece to mount pipe to cam cover like the oem exhaust mounts.
I took a lot of time mounting the Thunderheader since they are prone to cracking if not done correctly. Mounted in 4 places and all simultaneously tightened so there's no binding. I added washers to space the bracket I made for cam cover so it wasn't lifting the pipe. I'm happy
Finally off the lift! Started up perfectly and all electrical works, was worried about that. Now I have it off the lift I'll paint the stripe on fairing, apply decals and set shock sag. Really close.

Took her out for first run since work began. Fixing all the cracks and broken fairing parts ended the constant rattling I was getting, big improvement. Thunderheader helped with response but I'll do more engine stuff on phase 2 in future. Suspension was a big improvement, nice having front and rear adjustability for height and dampening, the sag is right and will soften it a touch more from 50%. I'm done for now, time to enjoy the rest of summer and fall.

I've only added a taller windshield since last picture. I've been waiting over a year for a new 1019 Thunderheader and have been collecting chrome parts for the engine since. Eventually late this year I'll add the chrome parts with new pipe to give bike more pizazz. May even powder coat wheels as well, but for now I'm just going to enjoy riding it this coming spring/summer.
