I absolutely loved my bubble shield on my 500. Just did 1600'miles with it in Early January. Unfortunately it only lasted those four days, on the final day of the ride I went to take it off for the final stretch and the button broke off the shield. Really loved it but a little disappointed it didn't last. I searched everywhere for replacement buttons and I can't find them. Here is a picture of it on my bike.
Got the clear and chrome bubble shields for mine...love the chrome. Really keeps the wind out of your face and I notice very little coming up from below the shield. Don't know if I'll ride with it on in the summer...probably be a little too hot being that you're not getting much air flow but it works great in the winter. I haven't ridden with mine on in the rain so can't really comment on that. I might buy one of those little devices that allows you to raise it up...that's really the only complaint I have.
I have a green tinted and a chrome bubble shield. They rattled really bad at first. I went to home depot and bought black weather stripping for five bucks. I cut small strips to fit on the top between the buttons and a piece for each side where the shield made contact with the helmet. You can't see the stripping from the outside and it cuts down on the rattle significantly. You still get ventilation between the buttons and from underneath. Put the stripping on when it is warm. If it is cold, the stripping will slip when the shield shifts back and forth. The shield has the ability to shift about a half an inch back and forth so that you can pick your nose or wipe your cheek a little.
See if you can locate a Tandy Leather store or possible other craft stores.
