Once upon a time you pulled up to a stop, look over and see a guy and his kid in a car. Dad is staring off into space and the kid would look longingly out the window at your bike and the father never noticed.
Today, the kid has his face buried in a phone, the father looks longingly at your bike and the kid never notices.
It's sad.
I guess everything changes, not always for the better.
Man, u r so on target. If ya did a study on HOW many ways things have changed for the worst over time be it due to tv, or the latest electronic gadgets and all, it is mind boggling how things changed.
So many times in the past (I am up in age) we would just go outside or call a friend of 2 and TALK with them abt getting together outside in the fresh air to play 1 of MANY games. Being active and actualyl TALKING to the other person.
Sign of the times is all... it's a different world now. My kid might be that kid into his electronic gadget. They have seen us on bikes all through their lives, nothing new to them. They know how to ride, they choose not to. I know, amazing, right? I don't understand it either.
You may not be as cool as you think you are. But that's ok, HD's are not as unique as they used to be. If your riding to get a reaction, your a little late on that. They are mainstream now.
Here we are, a bunch of motorcycle owning keyboard commando's, commenting that the iPhone addicted kid and his dreamer dad are sad ??
Aaawwlrightythen !
I'm glad someone said that before me. But it's winter, so what the hell. There are plenty of kids that look as I ride by, but they are the under 10yrs kids. I guess the problem is that the kids nearer to riding age are more interested in a crotch rocket, there are plenty riding those even here in the great white north.

Harley just doesn't carry the same mystique with us young guys. We love our tech, gadgets, and video games. I didn't know what a Harley was until I was 23. Most young guys are tech gurus and always looking to buy the latest tech or the most technically advanced product. I love Harley because they are classic and take you back to a simpler time but I am not the majority and I still love my tech.
