Being a former Corvette owner we also used to wave to each other.Same as the bike, some did it and some did not.The thingI hate the most is when the cagers pull along side and blow the horn to give you the thumbs up. Scares the sh$$T out of me.Happens to me alot here in Jerzee. Ride Safe all
I noticed when I hit Childress TX and go north on 83, the waving stops. Every one in awhile, you will see some newbie who is on his first Sturgis run and is waving at everybody.

I think you will find that at Sturgis and other rally sites, nobody waves. You would never be able to ride. It's funny when leaving Texas for Sturgis everyone is waving. Then when you get about two states away from SD there becomes a pilgrimage of bikers and you have to stop waving. But the pilgrimage sure looks and sounds good.
i wave at all the people who drive bmw 740I series but they think i am flippin them off, when i wave at all the guys driving ford trks like mine they think i`m flippin them off wtf
I give all riders the low waive.
Normally, i don't even watch to see if they waive back if I was the first to salute.
In my area, though, other riders usually waive first...I guess riders are just friendly around here.
I don't care what they ride, so long as they're on 2 wheels.
I waved at a scooter once and as I roared by he gave me a sheepish little wave back...yeah I wave at most folks too, like you said, they're riding something, why not?
that low wave is just another silly azzed harley image type thing. It's a pretty good way to identify a relative newcomer though.
WOW!! My 22nd season of street riding, and I'm a "relative newcomer". Cool! (In case subtle sarcasm was overlooked, I wave to pretty much everyone I pass on a bike, regardless of manufacturer...some wave back, some don't...mental note though; drop wave when heading for Sturgis the first time around...)

Hey man I am pretty certain I saved a scooter from certain death one night. Im puttin home from a 500 mile day and I see a scooter pull out and this mustang gets right on his ***. then the mustang starts doing these burnouts right behind the guy while rolling. Everytime the dude did it I that scooter swerved all over the place. this kid was shaking! So I cracked open the throttle and roared by teh stang ont he shoulder and pulled in next to the scooter, gave him a thumbs up and to continue on his way. then I dropped back and whodathunkit, that stang didnt rev his motor once with me infront of him, lol.
