Extra Lights on bikes against the law in Florida

I understand it's the law, but things like that have always been an add on ticket...."you know I stopped you for speeding, but, you're not supposed to be running your fog lights" or window tint you know things like that. My main issue with the stop was I had out of state plates, I had to beg him to not write a ticket because I didn't know it was illegal there. I had them wired to my headlights, so he had me get under the bumper & unplug them to avoid the ticket. He searched my truck & then because it was 3AM & I was 17, he called my mom in Dallas to ask her if I was a runaway.

(3) AUXILIARY PASSING LAMPS.--Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed two auxiliary passing lamps mounted on the front at a height not less than 24 inches nor more than 42 inches above the level surface upon which the vehicle stands. The provisions of s. 316.237 shall apply to any combination of headlamps and auxiliary passing lamps.

No ticket issued and I normally run high beam in the day time so to be seen better. It being winter her in Florida there has been some condensation forming in the spots so I run them to dry out. I support LEO's but will not be harnessed and know the sheriff he works for and have a few deputy friends. Thanks for all the help people great form.

Yeah, I know, but I have seen cops enforce it in broad daylight. I have never agreed with it.

You have "extra lights" which are illegal according to the officer but his extra lights are exempt. I don't see a problem there. I'll bet he'd have the same response if you had a siren on your bike. Wanna bet?

Rented a Limited in Florida last July and had them on at all times. LEO never stopped me.
