It is always fun and entertaining to read the various classified sections to see how others have tricked up their bikes and to get a sense of what price point people think (dare I say hope) they can get.
But.......I always get a kick out of the ads that state "never seen rain" or something similar.
My thought.....if you really have been riding for years (I am now in year 48), you simply can't avoid rain/sleet/snow/wind/lightening/thunder/whatever at some time while out on the road.
Some of my most memorable rides (at least for story telling) have been when I got caught in some monsoon or a warm summer evening mist.
Granted the bike will need to be cleaned, but who really gives a rat's rear end? That is simply one part of the fun of owning a bike.
I have never PLANNED to ride in the rain. Here the weather forecast in riding season is always "sun & clouds with a chance of rain". Thanks for the help. Go ride any way, if it rains, so be it
I'll bet that most, if not all, of those that never got rained on were garage queens. Like getting water on your machine lowers its resale value. It still cracks me up when I see statements like that.
Years ago I was looking at a used 911, the seller and I took it to my mechanic to get it checked out. On the way home it rained and he got so mad that he refused to sell it to me. Like it was my fault it rained. You'd think he'd be happy to get rid of his now "damaged goods".

I talked to that guy right after you, and he told me that he had to have the car destroyed, because you got it wet!!!! Shame on you!!!
One of my most fun tours was 12 or 13 years ago when I rode head-on into Hurricane Lily in Mississippi. Adversity can turn a road trip into an adventure.
