I've owned 2 motorcycles. The first was a 1975 Sportster bought new at HD in Sloatsburgh, N.Y. I sold it in 1981 and got into Drag Racing Cars. Mustangs. In 2011 I was visiting my Daughter in S.L.C.,Utah. We were having lunch and across the street was a Harley Dealer. I asked her if she wanted to check out the bikes. We crossed the street and went in. Its been 30 years since I checked them out. I saw the Iron Sportster and really liked it. I'm 5 feet /8 inches tall and 148 pounds,so the Sportster is a good fit for me. I flew back to New York and kept thinking about that Sportster. Next thing I Know I'm at Bergen Harley buying a new 2012 Iron. I rent a Storage unit and have it delivered the next day. I'm riding the same roads that I rode on my first Sportster. 7 Lakes Drive. Now when I ride this bike I'm this 22 year old kid again,Not this 62 year old man anymore. When I bring it back and put it away I'm a old guy again, But it is sure fun while it lasts. Dec 2013 I had it converted to a 1200 cc. Makes the bike alot more fun to ride.
I hope you still have that hair! Nice bike though. Isn't that the point of the motorcycle though, to transport us back in time? You are only as old as you feel so when you are on your bike you are 22 years old. Stay out the ditches!

I remember that Harley dealer on rt. 17, used to stop in there when I would go riding up to 7 Lakes Drive. My mom & dad had their honeymoon right there at Motel on the Mountain.
