Default Upgrade "old style" headlight lens for 2005+ headlight lens

I have a 2000 Road King Classic with the original headlight. The headlight lens has vertical "stripes" or "ripples" which are original and normal. Reading the P&A catalog, I see in 2005 H-D switched to a smooth "crystal clear" "reflector optics" lens and this upgrade is available to older bikes like mine. I assume the actual halogen bulb is the same.

My headlight is not the brightest but maybe that is partly my eyesight.

Has anyone made this change and was the result worth the money, about $120. ?

Thanks.

Default Check Ebay

Check out Ebay and I think you can find one for much less.

Just did the exact same thing on my 2003. Haven't ridden at night yet but the looks alone make it worth the price. I got my headlamp and passing lamps used off this forum. You will need a wire harness adapter for the two passing lamps if you want to be truly plug and play other wise you have to do some modifying to the stock wires. The headlamp itself is plug and play with our older models.
