I think the majority of us on the forum predicted troubled sales for the Street. I still haven't seen one, being ridden or in a showroom..
Yes, Yes we did.... I actually saw a kid taking delivery of one over the weekend but there were 10 others in the showroom that everyone walked right past.
I don't know where HD is headed at all beyond electric. Once they get into overhead cams and liquid cooling, they're no different than the majority of jap bikes. That badge doesn't mean much to young guys.
True that...in 2005 I had almost 25 years in at a pharmaceutical giant. I was in the first round of 10,000 initial employees let go. Than replaced with no employees hired thru a third party with no bennies.
why in the world would any company continue to fund benefits if they have the means to de-unionize their workplace, hire workers at lower wages with no benefits? The US will provide insurance and other benefits that will elevate their lives closer to the average middle class (that also pay for said elevation).
I'm not saying all business (or investment capital groups) follow this model, but it works and is being done more and more. It's not until US market (customers) are bled out of disposable income and the US is supporting the majority will it's effect be of concern by those causing it.

I toured the KC plant a few years ago. I remember saying, "I want those jobs". I saw non-educated, shorts and t-shirt wearing people, assembling this or that on a slow assembly line for ridiculous amount of money per hour. More than our entry level 2 and 4 yr degree holders are making. I remember thinking, "how long can this last? and no wonder these bikes are so expensive!"
I think everyone should make a living, but...
I personally think your a$$ sucks soda bottles !!!!
whoever did is not as important as being aware what is happening.
skilled workers intended to be replaced by workers that will not be compensated enough to contribute back into the economy what they are using (public assistance, retirement, spouses wages).
The result is earnings (and in the case of higher paid skilled worker wages) surplus earnings will not be spent and respent up to 7 times in the local economy (basic economics).
Every dollar spent supporting foreign workers is generally gone and if there is a trade deficit on our side (as is the general rule) their surplus is used to by our real estate, securities (debt).
Globialization is not good for US, so much that many US Citizens that make $ off it keep their funds offshore as well.
US masses may ultimately get tired of working menial service type jobs at low wages, and skilled workers get pulled down to lower economic status through lower wages, loss of benefits, inflation and taxes. Maybe then will people start thinking about where their money is ultimately going.
