These old legs love the heel/toe shifter.

Some people don't like to scuff the left shoe toe hence the heel shifter.

I like the heel shift. It's what you get used to. I had never used one until we bought a 68 Honda Dream that had it. When I bought my 99 Ultra I started using it more and more. Now, I wouldn't want to be without it.

As for removing the goofy reflectors....I kind of like being seen.

Sir, a lot of the HD stuff is new to me. Would you be so kind as to PM me more details please specifically on the HD shaft cover for an SGS.

For others,
Thank you for your response. I am still confused by those that say they don't need to move their foot for the heel shift.
On toe shift my foot doesn't leave the board. For heel shift I physically need to lift my entire foot to press down with heel.
As for finding neutral on a 48 hour old bike.....that is an entirely different post

I left mine on. The heel part makes kind of a positive rear stop for my boot to keep it from sliding backward. Of course, I never use it for shifting, that's what the front part is for.

And it looks kinda vintage cool.

I tried using it the heel shift a few times, didn't care for it. Although, when not on the bike (standing next to it) I find using the heel shifter to go from 1st to neutral a bit easier. Funny/scary (too me) story awhile back I was out riding and my pant cuff got caught on the heel part, I started to put my left foot down and ooooops! Luckily I was able to catch myself in time and put the right foot down. That coulda been a painful, costly and embarrassing moment.
