There's a diaphragm attached to the slide that moves up and down when you move the throttle. It's right under the top cover. Chances are, if you were just in there, the diaphragm is not seated properly. Mind the small lip in the carb top and cover, and make sure the diaphragm is seated evenly in it.
Thanks for the info, dumb question but what intake? The Air Filter? I did notice a tiny tiny tear in the carb diaphragm near the top?
That will do it.
You need a new one. You can probably still order it from H-D. Around $40. Use care installing it. Do not tighten the cover screws until you are sure it's seated. If it still pops after that, check the intake where the carb mounts to the heads. It's "Y" shaped...check all three mount surfaces for leaks.
The tear is right next to the screw hole. I think youre right that its not seated in there properly. I noticed on my stock top it has little ridges and the Biltwell top doesnt have that. Thanks for the info!
