Wow.. you folks wear them as rain/cold gear and I wear them as protection. I wear mine whenever I get on the bike.

I was wondering when someone was going to bring that up...Chaps are for protection, but can keep you warm and look good on some people (women in particular) I have a 700 mile road-trip to El Paso coming up in August and I'm wondering if I should compromise in the heat???

I take them on long trips, only wear them when it gets cold - went frpm LA to Sturgis a couple of years ago - thought because it was August I would leave them home - boy, I missed them in that hail storm in the Rocky Mountains!!!

i have leather pants to and you wear chaps over them you can go along way in some real cool weather .most of the time if it gets below 50 i wear my chaps.

I went to my first(and last) \\;HOG meeting last month.

I seriously counted 19 pairs \\;of chaps.
 \\;
The tragic part\\; There were only SIX bikes in the parking lot. One was mine.

There are soooooo many better choices\\; Just say no to chaps.

when I first started riding, I wore my chaps and also my leather jacket ALL the time. \\; (That was in large part at the request of my husband
). \\; I don't wear my chaps as much now in warmer weather, but do in cooler weather, and on long trips. \\; I still wear my leather jacket long after a lot of people switch to cooler jackets - but I do wear a light denim type jacket quite often in warmer weather. \\;
