I bought the HF version of the Craftsman yellow. I didn't like it at all. Was not comfortable with how unsteady the bike is on the stand. I took it back and got this one.

The difference is night and day. Worth every penny IMHO. Good luck.

I think FXDLI is certainly correct in that the J&S Jacks is a superior jack to the yellow jack and for that matter so is the "Pitbull" jack.

However I can sit on my Heritage while on the yellow jack and even though it will rock it will not fall over.
Of course it's strapped down as it should be on any jack.

That being said, the J&S and Pitbull jacks probably won't rock but at a $400 plus price tag I guess it all depends on how much jack you need and how much money you want to spend.

If all you need is to jack the bike for minor maintenance or cleaning, IMO the Sears/HF red or yellow jacks will do the job just fine.

I too have the yellow one. I added 2 pieces of heavy angle iron pieces to make the w lift platforms (top pieces) a bit longer. It is a lot easier now to lift my road Glide frame now that the two top lift platform rails are longer. The stock ones only had about 1 inch on each side of the frame when it was lifted. It was a bit more difficult to line it up before I lifted it. Just my 2 cents.

So the next question is do you lift your bikes from the stand side or the opposite side? I lifted mine from the stand side, but watching the video that 06FXDLI posted it showed the operator lifting from the side opposite the jiffy stand.

In 07 when I got the Heritage I didn't know crap about what jack to get,,

ended up with the HF yellow,, still have it,, pretty solid and mainly I use it to clean the wheels..

The weakest point about it is it does go down faster than I'd like.. I also reworked the table height by making the holes bigger so it fit fits under the bike easy..

I'll add I am thinking about getting one of the better ones now, just haven't done it yet..

Ditch the pull tight straps, and use the ratchet type.
Pull straps will give easily, and it's impossible to get them tight enough to do any good.
They are your insurance, don't cheap out on insurance!

The ratchet straps that come with the jack are too long for my Ultra (I think the provided straps are made for dirt bike types that have to clear a higher seat than what's on the Ultra) so I may have to look into getting a set of shorter ones.
