I was hesitant to post this, but you guys really helped me a lot with all of my other questions about making my bike run cooler so here goes.
I took my fairing lowers off to help the bike run cooler, which has made a huge difference. I'll probably put them back on soon now that you folks have told me how to cut the doors to get a lot more air while their on. But it also seems like my bike feels a lot lighter or maybe a better way of saying it is, more maneuverable without them. Particularly when making sharp turns at slow speeds. Since I can't explain why that would be the case, I'm thinking I may just be imagining it because its not like lowers weigh a ton or anything. But could that be right? Then I started thinking maybe that's why I never see Police bikes with fairing lowers? Scratching my head.

Reason: missed a word
After having a Road Glide I guess I can understand the sharp turns at slow speeds thing although mine did not have lowers. I do have soft lowers I have used on my Road King a couple times and it is suggested not to use them above 50 degrees. May be some sense to that after all so may attribute to the bike running cooler.
