Stupid warnings by manufacturers are the result of someone (usually many someones) who didn't have the smarts to figure it out on their own.
More probably the result of company attorneys trying to limit liability. HD has the most **** lawyers in my experience. The warnings and cautions are way out of proportion to other manuals I've read. e.g., my Jeep owners manual.
