Ya know, the length of the linkage doesn't affect "shifting",, all it adjusts is the position of the shift peg in relation to the pivot point of the forward shift lever.

Start simple. Pull your shifter levers off and clean the rod with the splines on it. Clean out the hole it goes through also. Grease it up and put it back together. Should help it move freely.

Wrong answer Hoss...might want to research that a bit. Once the mount was put under another the length changed which does cause the peg to move. Now with the peg moved the position is not the same hence the difficulty in shifting. The issue is not with the peg its with the linkage. Adjust the linkage back to bring the peg back and viola problem solved.

Fixed the problem. It was the linkage. Made an adjustment to that and changed the angle of the shifter a bit for comfort while i was at it, and presto. Good as new. Thanks for the help everyone. I will keep an eye out for any of the other issues mentioned here but i really hope they don't come up or ag least not anytime in the near future
