Do they clear over the stripes? what protects the stripes from the elements if not? Just curious how the procedure goes.

Mine were not clear coated but I did ask about it. My painter said they are extremely durable and do not need the extra time and expense. My biggest concern is the fairing since it gets hit by bugs and sand so time will tell.
