OCTANE BOOSTERS are snake oil. They don't really have any effect on the octane rating at all unless you want to run them at about a 1 to 1 ratio.

I have no idea as I don't use the stuff myself, just thinking that may have made a difference from the regular stabil.

Just to answer the original question there is no reason STA-BILŠ should make your engine run hotter. This would be the first we heard of that product having that reaction but would be happy to look into it further. Also, we recommend STA-BILŠ 360 Powersports be ran during the summer to help keep the fuel system clean and protected. It has a higher concentration of cleaners & detergents along with water handling capabilities than our traditional STA-BILŠ Storage product does.
Our 104+Š Octane Boost will help you when you are running gas out on a trip and may fill up at a station where you are unsure how often that gas turns over. It will have a more noticeable difference when you fill up with poor quality fuel.
